![]() ![]() Ignant666: "Lashtalians who have been around for a few years may recall the posts by “Los”, a tireless advocate of the “skeptical Thelema” school who was often good enough to enlighten us abject superstitionists. (But if so, greatly looking forward to it! Bring it onnnnn my man!) □ I can't see our Los pulling any of that 8=3 number shit here. as taste prefers) There's just something so obvious about it: such an elementary error - such a basic tyro's no-no, so crashingly gauche but all the same so surprising just how many people who should know better still feel they have to parade their sense of would-be superiority to their fellow man in such a fashion. ![]() A.'., like whatever goings-on go on during the celebrated rock band's road tour, should stay in the A.'. His Magister Templi attainment appears to be self-conferred His posts there are signed “Los, 8=3”, a grade he had not to my knowledge attained, or claimed, when he posted here. At the same time, though, this didn't mean that I categorically rejected a super-natural/ "superstitionist" world-view either, which was/ is invariably & ultimately (rather wearyingly) his de facto default position and detracted from what otherwise might have been a well-set-out and thought provoking perspective. Which in a way was highly ironic, as being relatively open-minded I had a fairly receptive demeanour towards his brand of "skeptical Thelema" and was quite prepared to debate it in a non-inimical, even broadly sympathetic manner. I found it most entertaining as did a number of others, but like all good things the fact of its being a 'one-way dialogue' meant it had to run out of steam eventually in the end. In fact it very soon reached the stage when he absolutely refused to answer any posts I made, regardless of content and blanked me and them entirely, dismissing me as a "clown" although not knowing me personally at all "in real life" (when I can on occasion actually be quite clownish, although he isn't to have known that). I don't know want to claim credit & don't know how much it may finally have had to do with it since a few others were also involved (including your good self, ignant666), but Los' disappearance from these fora seemed to happen at around the same time I exposed his shenanigans & consistently poked fun at his increasingly frequent borderline-irritating habit of introducing new threads, asking for feedback whilst enthusing about the prospect of conversation, then proceeding to totally ignore any points or questions he didn't feel like addressing - one example should suffice here, where I asked him why & how on earth he considered Liber Resh could just as well be performed with a couch settee as its object of veneration in place and instead of our glorious solar disk. He eventually grew tired of being laughed at by advocates of “gullible Thelema” and hasn’t posted here in some time. ![]() Lashtalians who have been around for a few years may recall the posts by “Los”, a tireless advocate of the “skeptical Thelema” school who was often good enough to enlighten us abject superstitionists. Perhaps I might check it out further some time, if the inclination is there & time allows & anyone particularly recommends? ![]() I discovered today that he has become a very frequent poster on Reddit’s Thelema board. Oh well, never mind - I suppose this will find him eventually. Yes, perhaps we can get together some sort of a card to send off to Los to congratulate him? Except I don't think we have a snail-mail address. Our own little Los-Bot, a Master of Temple! I hope all will join me in rejoicing. ![]()
